This talk will focus on the resurgence of Global South solidarities toward anti-colonial futures, thinking through possibilities afforded in the present, beyond crisis and catastrophe. Rooted in historical Afro-Asian gatherings that took place around the world from the 1950s through the 1970s, this talk will look at what is birthed out of the shared interdependence of anti-colonial struggles, grappling with their inconsistencies and contradictions, and what returning to these meetings might hold for disrupting Western-centric notions of time, history, linearity, and progress.
